Controlling which clients can associate to certain access points

Hi All

We have some access points advertising the same SSID, we would like it so that some of the clients are not allowed to associate to certain access points.

what is the best way of achieving this on a WLC and also Meraki?

cheers

 - That is a very bad question in terms of all Wireless standards and decent wireless management. A Wlan-broadcasting domain contains an SSID  and a Wlan supported access points. If the SSID-name is a problem (sameness) rhen make sure it can be changed where  needed.

personally I do not believe you can achieve this with cisco Controller, Client association decision, not by the AP.

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

Carl,
What you're asking simply DEFIES the concept of "roaming" in wireless.
Several options to choose from:
1. Login script to say "this computer can only associate to APs that ENDS WITH 'X'".
2. Create new SSIDs where you want people to connect and then put those in an AP Group.
