counting the number of AP's

We have a large deployment of the 1242 AP's and I was wondering if there's a way of determining the exact number, short of counting them off of the controllers on the WCS?

thanks.

i would imagine that running the below mentioned cli command on the controller would help.

"show ap summary"

It would tabulate the Number of APs

on your WCS goto Reports

Access Point Reports

Select new from the drop down menu.

Under General Tab add a name and leave everything default

Run the report

Export to CSV

Open with Excel

Just look at the row count

This is how I do it. It will give the count of all APs on all controller within your WCS

WCS 4.1 gives you a good AP count.

Reports > Inventory Reports > Access Points

One of my customers was atually shocked to learn that they had non-LWAPP AP's lingering after running this report. What's nice is that it breaks it down by AP type.
