We have a Cisco 2504 Wireless controller that is used to manage 4 mesh AP's. These AP's are in our town center area to provide the public with free wifi. When this was installed the engineer set the dhcp lease time to 24 hours which I recently found was too high because we would run out of IP's. So my question is what is a good lease time? Should I go 60 minutes or would the increase in requests eat up network resources?
The network the public connects to was a 192.168.250.0/24 network but I changed that to a /23 network to allow for more IP's.

Hi Kevin
You aren't alone. This is pretty typical. Moving the dhcp to a short time is an option. We have ours set at 30mins. Or you can open up the scope ..

Thanks. I'll set it shorter and see how it goes.
