The NCS supersedes both the Cisco WCS and Cisco LMS.
NCS comes in two flavours: 3 levels of VMware and an applliance.

They are both very similiar in functionality. The major difference is that NCS offers a basic switch management front end and allows you to see your wired clients just as you would your wireless. Other then that, the I've found the latest version of NCS to run quite a bit smoother and faster then my WCS install of several years, slicker graphics. I would recommend using NCS in Chrome for the best view.

WCS is not being continued any further, apparently the current version 7.0.220 is the last update for it
Also NCS only comes as a physical appliance or as a virtual machine, no more windows versions
The NCS can also be migrated in the Cisco Prime Infrastructure, along with NCS (WAN) 1.1, and LMS 4.2
P.S. you can also migrate WCS to NCS.

Troy is right on all comments. A new rev of WCS was released, 7.0.230.0. I suspect this is because it is keeping up with the maintenance releases for the 7.0 track.
