does LEAP disable WEP?

a laptop wirless PC with ACU is already working on AP350. WEP 40 bit matches and LEAP enabled(windows domain login)

1. on ACU of the laptop, I changed WEP 40bit key so it won't match any more again AP 350

2. enabled LEAP again

3. to my surprise, this PC still got authenticated by AP350

thus:

1. why doesn't WEP key need to be matched any more ?

2. does LEAP login disable WEP ? on ACU status page, I see WEP still enabled ?

When LEAP is enabled, WEP keys will be generated dynamically. So your static WEP keys in ACU are no longer relevant.
