Downgrade ap 1142 to autonomous

Hi to all.

I'm trying to downgrade an ap 1142 from lightweight to autonomoys mode.

I used to ways to do this without success.

1) I've tryied from controller with the following command:

config ap tftp-downgrade <tftp ip> c1140-k9w7-tar.124-25d.JA.tar

2)From ap : archive download-sw /force-reload /overwrite .....

With both two ways i have the same error: Problem extracting files from archive.

(I have attach the output.)

Your help please....

Best Regards.

Any other idea?

What TFTP client are you using.  Try using TFTPd32.

Hello Christos,

please make sure there is no antivirus or firewall running on the TFTP machine.... also use TFTPD32

also if no help , you can try the following procedure (this will require pphysical access to AP).

1) Go to your Computer and from the tool menu -> folder options ->uncheck the hide extensions for known file types option.

2) Download the IOS image on your desktop.

3) Rename the image into c1250-k9w7-tar.default         ->>> make sure to use image name based on your AP model.

4) Give your computer Ethernet an address in the range 10.0.0.2 till
10.0.0.30

5) Run the tftp server on your computer.

    - Make sure that the directory of your tftp server is the desktop.

    - Specify the AP address on the tftp server if needed.

6) Connect the AP to the computer with Ethernet cable.

7) Remove the power from the AP.

8) Press and hold Mode button on the AP, and insert the power jacket in the AP.

9) Keep pressing on the Mode button for (20-30 seconds) until you see RED Led.

10) Wait until the image installed and all led lights return to green

Kind regards

Talal

I downloaded for one more time the IOS and i finally managed  to downgrade to autonomous mode.

It seems that the previous images were corrupted.

Thanks all for your help.
