Team,
I want to implement a second WLC but for AP infrastructure reasons I cannot go beyond version 8.3.150 and it happens that this second WLC is with version 8.5.151 but when performing a downgrade it gives me an error of "TFTP code file type not supported "the same thing happens if I want to start it with the secondary image which is 8.3.122.
Has someone this happened to him or is there another process to download the image?
WLC 5508.
Error: TFTP code file type not supported

I just took the WLC to a factory reset, I started it with the 8.3.122 image and repeated the upgrade process which now turned out to be successful.
Thanks for the support and feedback.

CLI into the controller and post the complete output to the command "transfer download start" and respond with a "n".

I tend to say that the file you are trying to install is corrupted. Please check the MD5 sum of it and compare it with the Cisco download portal value (hover over the filename to see the MD5 sum).
