Hi,

i want  to configure my cisco 1242ag series ap(autonomous) to work as internet gateway.

how can i connect it to network so that it will work as internet gateway for users.

1>> on what VLAN you want your clients to get the IP address??

2>> On wat vlan you want your AP's BVI interface to be in??

In that case..

here is the config..

On the Switchport

==============

Interface gig X/X

Description AP and clients in vlan 4001

switchport mode access

switchport access vlan 4001

no shut

end

On the AP

=======

en

conf t

int bvi 1

ip address (Ip address in VLAN 4001 subnet).

no shut

end

conf t

dot11 ssid

guest-mode

end

conf t

int dot11 0

ssid

no shut

end

The abobe will work.

as told by u, i have done dis configuretion.

when i enable my wifi of laptop, it shows ssid configured.

but its not connecting.

one more thing, AP shud give ip thru DHCP.

ok..

we need to configure the DHCP pool on the AP.. here is the config...

en

conf t

ip dhcp pool

network

default-router

end

the above will help you!! For example.. if the ip address of VLAN 4001 is 10.10.10.1 then the DHCP config wiell be..

en

conf t

ip dhcp pool WIFI

network 10.10.10.0 255.255.255.0

default-router 10.10.10.1

end
