My company has WiFi throughput our office building, but the coverage doesn't extend onto an outdoor patio area. The area is rectangular in shape with dimensions about 30 feet by 150 feet. The reason coverage isn't out there is because the glass surrounding the area has been treated to prevent the suns rays from entering the building, which also effectively snuffs out any WiFi signal trying to go out. I was thinking about mounting an indoor access point such as a 3600 series or 3700 series above the ceiling tiles and drilling a hole through the wall and mounting an external antenna pointing down the patio.
Aesthetics is also an issue, they want as unobtrusive an antenna as possible. Please recommend the type of external antenna I should use for this application, and if there's a better way to accomplish this, I'd love to hear that as well.
