External Access Point Distance

I have an external wireless access point (AIR-AP1572EAC-E-K9) which is acting as a RAP. The RAP is currently connected to a power injector and then onto the switch (all well within 100m).

However, I now need to relocate the power injector, but this will now affect the overall distance involved – see below:

Cisco 2960XR Switch -------70m--------power injector---------60m---------Cisco1572 AP

Can anyone advise if this will work in terms of distances?

From my experience it will work, but there will be significant signal loss and you may have to hardcode the speed to 100M on that switchport. I would recommend replacing this Power injector with an Industrial switch/hub if installed outside or look at POE capable Catalyst Micro Switch if indoor.

Cisco documentation dictates that "The maximum distance that is supported for in-line power is 328 ft. (100 m), including the length of the 6.5-ft. (2-m) Ethernet cable provided with the power injector."
