External antenna for 1941W

Hi all. We are considering using 1941Ws at a number of our branch locations. The routers will be installed in metal cabinets. In order to get the antennas out of the cabinet we are considering using an external unit such as a AIR-ANT2544V4M-R. Now this may be a silly question, but the 1941Ws have three antenna posts and that antenna (and others like it) have four connectors, so if we were to use it would we need to somehow terminate the fourth (unused) connector?

Thanks.

Can we just leave the four connector unplugged and unterminated?

Yes.  Just make sure to tape up the one that's not being used to prevent any water contamination.

The wireless component embedded in the 1941W requires a dual-band antenna with three pigtails.  Go HERE and search for antennas which are dual-band.  And then look for one with three pigtails.  If you have more than one "candidate" then good.  Look at the signal propagation properties of each model and then make your decision based on that.

Hi Leo. Thanks for your response. I had already looked through that page before posting my question. The problem is that all the dual band antennas are either one, four or six element. We could buy three single element antennas but it would be a neater solution if we could just buy a single multiple element antenna. So that leaves us with the four element antennas, and only three connectors on the 1941W. Can we just leave the fourth connector unplugged and unterminated?

Again thanks Leo for taking the time to answer.
