Flexconnect groups and Roaming

Hi,

Is there any issues in roaming between Flexconnect groups?

I have 50 APs in a building, Flexconnect groups only allow me to have 25 APs max per group so I will need 2 groups.

Will there be any issues when clients roam from 1 AP to another if the APs are in different Flexconnect groups?

Thanks

It will do a full handshake for 802.1x so it might affect roaming but it depends on your devices.

So essentially a client with a laptop will lose connectivity and have to re-authenticate?

Yes but it's like if you weren't using FlexConnect groups. Users might not even see any difference. Voice will.

Thanks for confirming that Scott, appreciate it.

No problem. It's a good idea to use, but there are times I don't even bother:)

Hello Scott,

We need to use Flexconnect with Local Authentication because one of our requirements is to use AP Local Authentication, but as you said FlexConnect Groups are indeed affecting our Android devices roaming, is there any way to solve or lessen this issue? Is there any bug that explains this behavior?

Thanks!
