Hi,
Let's say I have 10 APs that are currently working in central switching mode. They are all in the same AP groups.
Now I want to use Flex Connect but only for one WLAN/SSID.
As per my understanding, I need to put all of APs in one FlexConnect group, change the desired WLAN/SSID to FlexConnect mode and then apply this config to the FlexConnect group.
Is this correct?

Hi
Not necessarilly actually. The AP in the AP group can work as flexconnect mode and do what you want to do which is leave the client traffic in the local network. When you change the AP from Local mode to Flexconnect mode you can see a different tab on the Access Point configuration page on the WLC. You can see that now you can have "General", "Credentials", "Interfaces", "High Availability", "Inventory" and "Flexconnect" tab. And the last one "Advanced".
On the flexconnect tab you can map the Vlan to WLAN and that´s where the magic happens.
SSID created as local mode will not give you the option to map to a local Vlan but if the WLAN was created as flexconnect it will give you the option to map it to a VLAN. Just put the vlan ID on the blank field.
Flexconnect group is important if you have more than one AP in flexconnect mode and you want to allow roam and other features.
But APs can be part of both AP group and flexconnect group.

So I can create a FlexConnect WLAN and applied it to the whole AP group?

That´s correct. On the WLC group you can see Flexconnect WLAN and Central switching WLAN and for those APs in Flexconnect you can map the traffic to a local VLAN on the AP.
The AP need to be in trunk mode witht the switch.

I think @Flavio Miranda has done a great job of answering your question - I'll just add one thing:
"FlexConnect WLAN" - the WLAN is not Flexconnect!
Flexconnect is the AP mode which allows you to configure WLANs with local switching and authentication.
On the WLAN Advanced tab in the Flexconnect section you select FlexConnect Local Switching
By default all APs are already in the the Default flexconnect group. You can customise settings for different APs by using your own flexconnect groups and also if you need to configure local radius authentication which is done on the flexconnect group but as Flavio said you don't need it just to configure a local switching WLAN.
