Hi all,
I have a customer that will be replacing a Meraki solutions for a Cisco solution. They currently have about 60 Meraki MR32's across multiple floors in two buildings on the same campus. Each floor has the same VLAN ID mappings to the WLANs (although different subnets since each floor has a L3 link to the core). We will be doing a one-for-one replacement of the access points. I just want to get some thoughts of configuring the Cisco APs in local mode vs. FlexConnect w/ Local Switching. With FlexConnect Local switching, we can leverage the existing VLANs and IP scheme. I assume roaming and client behavior would be similar to the Meraki solution. With Local mode, we would need to create new subnets and VLANs at the core to accommodate clients, as well as reconfigure each AP switch port for access ports instead of trunking.
I was just seeing what anyones thoughts are on this scenario, pros vs cons in regards to local mode vs flex connect with a local WLC, best practice, etc...
