Hi Folks,
I will start with my network infrastructure. I have a WLC and it has around 50 APs on it with different profiles.
Long story short. currently, APs are getting IP from the core switch where the DHCP server is created. I have noticed that when the APs restart the IP address is changing on them. I want to give the fixed Ip to these APS. how can I do that? Do I need to reserve Ip one by one with AP's mac address from the core switch where the DHCP server is running for them at present? How to do this, please?

- Why do you want fixed ip addresses , you can also have a DHCP pool with available addresses on the DHCP server for the subnet used by APs ,

That is because APs IP keeps on changing every time APs ae rebooted.

- This has no functional impact for wireless operations and servicing ,

Yes but I am told to reserve IP for each APs. In that case how to do?

- On the DHCP server you will usually have an address pool with available addresses for APs ; you must only make sure that the pool is big enough to accommodate and allocate addresses for all APs you intend to use,

can you please give me example how do I create DHCP Pool for this APs with mac address?

- Creating a DHCP pool depends on the type (model/brand) of DHCP server being used ; for Cisco take a look at this
