- What software version is your 9800 controller running ? When dealing with such issues , use the latest
advisory release for starters.

- That's impossible , a 9800 controller runs IOS-XE , you are referring to aireos releases ,

I'm sorry its a 5520 Controller mix of 2802 and deploying 9800 APs

Sorry for the mess-up. We are migrating from a 2802i Ap to an 9120axi Ap on a 5520 Controller. The issue with the 840 phone cropped up when they we are associating with the new APs. we currently have 125 of the 700 Aps converted to the 9120s.
