 - Which -> https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286285803/type , how will depend on the software type you want to run : Mobility Express or CAPWAP (client mode ) ,

Hi Marce,

This link only shows 1850i image, is this compatible with above said ap model or some same model image required.

Ap used in capwap flexconnect mode.

Also advice tool and steps to upgrade ios in 1852 model ap.

1. 1850i as such doesn't exist - it refers to the 1850 range of APs which are all 1852's - see https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/wireless/aironet-1850-series-access-points/datasheet-c78-734256.html#Orderinginformation

2. You've said CAPWAP, is that with a WLC or with Mobility Express?  If WLC then the AP will be upgraded automatically when you upgrade the WLC.  If with Mobility Express then you need to set up a TFTP server with the files from the ME zip file unzipped on the server ready for the AP to download and you need to configure the TFTP server details on your ME WLC because it will instruct the AP to fetch the new version from that TFTP server when the ME code is upgraded.

yes, it is connected with cisco 7500 series wlc controller.

Then the AP will be upgraded automatically when it joins the WLC.

But it will only work if the WLC is running code which supports that AP model - refer to the compatibility matrix below.  What version of AireOS is the WLC running?

 - It is compatible , for upgrading a  lightweight access point check : https://blog.it-playground.eu/lightweight-ap-manual-firmware-upgrade/

If you want to know which version to use then refer to the various links below:

You can switch back to Mobility Express or Lightweight mode later
Lightweight mode you will have to depend on the Controller you are using

@Do Tien Dung if the AP is connected to a WLC (which he already said it is) then he should NOT be converting it to Mobility Express as you suggest!   The AP will download the correct software version from the WLC when it joins the WLC.  If he wanted to upgrade it manually then it would be done with the CAPWAP image corresponding to the WLC code version, NOT the ME image!  Using an ME image would simply create additional problems because as soon as that ME started up other APs on the same subnet could start to join the ME instead of the correct WLC.
