We've been using wireless networking for quite some time, but at the time it has been installed without the use of WDS.
I'm preparing to change this on about 17 locations. Some have a few AP's, but others have many (one has as many as 82). So, what I would like to know is: 'what is the best method to choose which AP is going to function as a primary WDS and which one as a secondary and what would be the best way to handle this one big location where all AP's are located on one huge floor. Thanks for any replay. Best regard, Corine Liebregts-verschure

Thanks for this information, but it's not what I'm looking for. What I meant was this: how do I decide which accesspoint is going to be the WDS. Should I look at the number of clients an AP serves or are there other things I have to be aware of? I know how to configure a WDS. Thanks again and best regards, Corine

A few things to consider.
The WDS AP should be one that has minimum associations, ideally it is best to have one with the radios off, then it can support 60 APs
with radio enabled Cisco reccommends that it can only support 30 APs. The site with 82 Aps will need carefull planning.
