I am sorry that I misunderstood the question when I first read it. I do not know the answer.

General for 2.4GHz is the spacing be in increments of 12.5cm or 4.9
inches. That spacing could continue to 2 feet. After that there would be
no benefit. This spacing between needs to be in the same field. Having
the antenna pairing separated by a wall will create two different signal
strengths from the radio and to the AP radio. That could keep some
clients from receiving the packets.
Too far apart is when the antennas start to change coverage cells.
Antennas need to cover the same coverage cell.

I am not sure what your setup is.
I see 2 possibilities:
1) 2 Access points with an omnidirectional antenna on each one of them & you need to know the distance of seperation between these 2 Ap's/antennae in turn.
2) 1 Ap with 2 Omnidirectional antennae.
If it's 2:
Note: bothr antennae never work at the same time. So, you need not worry about the seperation between them.
Cost effective setup would be to use one external antenna with one AP. But still if you wanna use both, go ahead and deploy them anywhere don't worry abouthe the distance between them.
If your setup matches possibility # 1:
Note: tell me the strengths/gain of the antenna in dB
Also let me know the height of the mast used.
This is a design question & I can tell you exactly the coverage area with the fresnel zone calculation.
Thanks,
Karthik
