How to change Backup image on WLC?

Hello, team,

I've replaced 8.6 code to 8.5, because 8.6 doesn't support my 1602 APs.

Now I have 8.5 as Primary Image and 8.6 as Backup Image. How could I replace Backup Image version to 8.1? I have an 8.1 image... Is it possible?

Install the 8.1 image which will automatically become the active then go into CLI and swap them over with 'config boot <choice>' (confirm with 'show boot').

Don't worry about it. As long as the either one of the image is applicable, the controller will always boot the right one unless manually overridden to boot the other.
Otherwise, boot the secondary and downgrade the firmware. 8.6 will get overwritten in the process and 8.5 will be untouched.
