How to change EWC to CAPWAP Mode??

 

I was taught to use the "ap-type capwap" command in the guide, but there really is no command.

 

WLC#sh ver
Cisco IOS XE Software, Version 16.12.07

 

WLC#ap-type ?
% Unrecognized command
WLC#ap-?
% Unrecognized command
WLC#ap?
ap app-hosting

Hi @JustTakeTheFirstStep Can you post show version from the AP which you are trying to covert.

You can convert an EWC-AP to function only as CAPWAP by executing a single command in the access point CLI. To login to AP CLi

"wireless ewc-ap ap shell username admin"

then type the same command

"ap-type capwap"

What will be the password after the command "wireless ewc-ap ap shell username admin"

Hi rahul-b,
got the same issue with a 9105AX.
Performed a hard reset (pushing button for 20sec), AP started again as EWC.
Once rebooted: wireless ewc-ap ap shell username Cisco (password Cisco)
en --> password Cisco 

ap-type capwap
