How to hash the mac from REST API in the same way Northbound do it?

Does anyone know what is the hash function with which Northbound location notifications hashes the mac addresses? I want to use the same function because I am doing an export from the CMX REST API and there the mac comes in clean text.

I found this bug showing that before CMX 10.0.3 the hash function can be reversed.
