Hi,
My customer is running 5508's with AP groups.
So that new AP's don't transmit the SSID's before I'm ready, I've enabled the 'Out-of-box' feature, which places the AP's into a new group, which is system configured with the radios disabled.
I just then need to move those AP's into the desired group when I'm ready for them.
Question is, how do I get the radios to switch back on?
I've moved them into the desired AP Group and they rebooted as expected, but both radios are currently down.
I went into the radio configure page and 'enable' is already selected, but they refuse to come up???
I'm running 7.5.102.0
Thanks
Dan

They should come back up unless you have the radios disabled globally unders the Wireless tab > 802.11a/n and 802.11b/g/n.
Thanks,
Scott

Did you check individual AP radio interface status? (Wireless -> Radio -> 802.11b|802.11a) , Ensure it is not in "disabled" status.
In WLC CLI, you can check it as below. In my case 2.4 radio is disabled & that's why it says ADMIN_DISABLED & DOWN. See what is the output of this in your case.
(WLC) >show ap config 802.11b
.
Administrative State ............................ ADMIN_ENABLED
Operation State ................................. REGISTERED
Mirroring Mode .................................. Disabled
AP Mode ......................................... Local
.
.
Attributes for Slot 0
Radio Type................................... RADIO_TYPE_80211n-2.4
Administrative State ........................ ADMIN_DISABLED
Operation State ............................. DOWN
Operation State Down Cause................... Radio Admin State Change
Operation State Down Code.................... AP_IF_TRAP_CONFIG_RADIO
(WLC) >show ap config 802.11a
.
Administrative State ............................ ADMIN_ENABLED
Operation State ................................. REGISTERED
Mirroring Mode .................................. Disabled
AP Mode ......................................... Local
.
Attributes for Slot 1
Radio Type................................... RADIO_TYPE_80211n-5
Radio Subband................................ RADIO_SUBBAND_ALL
Administrative State ....................... ADMIN_ENABLED
Operation State ............................. UP
Radio Role .................................. ACCESS
If you want to enable it via CLI you can use following
config 802.11b enable
config 802.11a enable
