Info on Wireless mesh networks

Can anyone provide me with some details on wireless mesh networks. such as the technologies used, the way in which they are implemented and any other relevant information.

A good place to start would be the latest Mesh Design and Deployment guide:

It's pretty lengthy, but offers a lot of detail.
