Is my AP a paperweight? (1242AG)

All,

I have a bunch of 1242AG access points that I'm pretty sure are expensive paperweights now, but before I toss them in the tech graveyard, I was hoping to get some second opinions or possible remedies on it.

Basically, on all these units (5 or 6), the Ethernet interface (and BVI1 too, on some of them) will go up and down continuously, as below.

Doesn't seem to matter if they have a config on them or not, and resetting to factory defaults and doing the "set IP_ADDR [...]" thing doesn't help.  Some of them error out on boot trying to auto negotiate, but setting the speed and duplex manually doesn't help, nor does eth_init.  And, of course, the Ethernet LED isn't blinking red to indicate a hardware fault, so I'm a little wary of just tossing them out.

Anyone have any ideas?

What have you done from the physical side? Changes the port, cable, power?

Well, they're PoE devices, so generally, take them down from the sky, attach them to a proper power injector and plug the Ethernet port straight into the main switch for whatever subnet they're on, and attach a console cable from my box to the AP so I can watch all the up/downs go by.
