Hi AP3800 in Flex mode is connected to wlc 5520. If we want to connect the AP to C9800, do we need to change Flex to local mode? Thank you

Hi

It does not matter.  The AP in flexconnect mode or local mode will performs the same process to find and join the WLC. Only after the AP joins the the WLC is that flexconnect or local mode will be important.

You need to check but probably in local mode. The AP will change the code and get new information from the WLC.  It is a totally

new WLC.

You must see this on the new WLC:
