LAP <==> autonomous (Aironet 1242)

Hello,

Firstly, i'm sorry if this answer  is already answered.

I have a network with :

  • 1242 AP's (autonomous/lighteweight)
  • 4400 WLC.

and i would like to make this design :

Wireless client <-----> 1242 AP's running autonomous <-----------------------> 1242 AP's running lightweight <=====> 4400 WLC

(where = is ethernet and - is wireless)

Is it possible? If it is the case, can anybody please offer any advice.

Best regards,

Alexandre

Alexandre,

     What you are looking for can be done...sort of.

You won't be able to do a wireless connection to the IOS-1242, but you could use the IOS-1242 as a WGB.  This would let you have wired clients behind the IOS-1242, that would then connect to the WLC.

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks for your quick reply.

I have another question.

If if i replace my "1242 AP's running autonomous" with a aironet 1300 or 1500, does it work?

Best regards,

Alexandre
