Link Aironet c3700 to WLC 2500

Hello,

I'm currently working on a school project where I need to link an Aironet c3700 AP (AIR-CAP3702l-E-K9) to a WLAN 2500 Controler, and the WLC isn't picking the AP up. It doesn't show on the dashboard panel.

I saw a post where someone told to add it in Security->MAC Filtering, but it didn't work.
To be honest, I'm a bit stuck and would love some help.

I've done a bit of research until now, but I couldn't manage to understand what I've been doing wrong.

I saw that it has something to do with DHCP Option 43 or 60, but couldn't really understand it properly.
Should I create a pool of addresses for the APs, configure the option with "Cisco Aironet c3700" ?

Also, I think my firmware is probably outdated because I don't have the "show capwap ..." cli that I've seen on some answers/guides. (And also due to the fact that the firmware is 15.3.3-JF, dated from the 25-Jul-2017).

Do I have to use the DHCP ? Can't I manually set the IP address and then link the AP and the WLC through CLI/web interface ?

I'll gladly give more informations if asked to.

Thanks a lot for reading/helping.
Neal

Your ap has an autonomous image (flash:/ap3g2-k9w7-mx.153-3.JF). You need a lightweight image in order to have the ap join the controller. You will need to have a support contract in order to download the lightweight image and the you will need to convert the ap. Search on the internet, “autonomous to lightweight conversion”. You will find a lot of information on how to do that.

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

Post the complete output to the following WLC commands:

sh sysinfo
sh time
sh license

Post the complete output to the following AP commands:

sh version
sh ip interface brief
sh log

The 6 outputs are bellow.

However, the "sh license" needed an extra bit after, so I added "summary" as I thought it might give enough data.
If it doesn't, I'll gladly input another command.

Thanks for helping me :)
