Mesh Network

I just installed our first Mesh with 16 1500's, 7 are wired, (4 provide the A backhaul 3 for coverage only)9 are wireless. I would like the Bridge link to be "auto rf" and the coverage (G) to be manual or custom.

All came up but on some of the A radios RAP or MAP do not show the option to change the channel from Global to Custom. The power setting option is available. Any ideas? All runn off a 4402.

The MESH units are designed with 2 separate radio networks. The 5 gHz radio is used for backhaul and by default auto RF (RRM) does not control the backhaul network. The units are on full power by default and a default frequency. You can and should manually tweak your backhaul network periodically. The b/g radio provides client service to the users and does support RRM but since the range between APs is usually quite far, there are not enough APs hearing each other to power down or up the APs. Channel assignment will work to the best of it's ability. Also, insure that each AP has the proper role in the AP configuration page. All RAPs should be listed as RAPs. In some code verions the APs always come up in MAP mode even if attached to ethernet. In older versions the ethernet port state determined role but this cause slow convergence to the controller on reboots and was changed. I have worked with Teklogix before so if you need assistance please feel free to contact me.

Thanks you. I was not understanding the roles and what properties they had. The system appears to be funtioning correctly.
