Hi!
Is it possible to connect AIR-LAP1242AG-S-K9 Access Points to an existing WLC-4402-25-K9 which are populated with AIR-LAP1242AG-A-K9? The difference is in the "S" and "A" in the part numbers. The "S" APs somehow could not join the WLC. Please suggest what should be done. Thanks a lot!

So long as your WLC is running 4.1 or greater, you can have AP with multiple country codes. You just need to add all the country codes you want to be allowed to join the controller.

I'd be careful about the legality of what you intend to do.
This feature discussed above is intended for a controller in one country to be able to manage Access Points in multiple countries (WAN?).
If you are wanting to install the -S access points in the Americas, then you might want to consider if there are any legalities.
I'm pretty sure you can't install that AP in the Americas, but I suppose there may not be anything stopping you....

When you have multiple country codes, the WLC will only use the common channel an power combinations.

Hi Wesley!
We got the "S" APs from a legitmate Cisco distributor. Thanks for your advice.
