Move AP to another WLC

Hi,

Currenlty we have a branch with a local WLC and a couple of AP that we want to move to our main office WLC and configure them with flexconnect. Actually the both WLC are independent and are not in the same mobility group. All the SSID and wireless configs are completly different.

I want to use on AP at the branch and transfert it to the WLC at our main office. Can I only change the primary WLC Ip address in the high availability tab, and the Ap will reboot/upgrade and connect to the other WLC, or it can cause problems on the main WLC as the AP will have some remaining config of the old WLC.

Right now changing the dns or dhcp option for the wlc is not an option because the others AP are in the same vlan and we don't want to disturb thems.

Is the only solution is to change the AP to another VLAN, change the DHCP option for the WLC in that VLAN and then factory reset the AP?

Regards,

Yes you can change primary WLC of the AP HA tab & then that AP will reboot & register to your HQ WLC. AP will get config from HQ WLC without any problem
