MX in Concentrator Mode

Cisco WLC’s has a concept called “interface Group” whereby multiple vlan’s can be grouped and tied to single logical interface.

A centrally switched SSID can then be configured to use an “interface Group” and the traffic for that SSID will be dropped into any one of these VLAN’s in a round robin fashion.

To achieve central switching in Meraki, an MX device can be setup in concentrator mode.

Can the Meraki MX (that will be configured in “concentrator mode”) also be configured with multiple VLAN’s per SSID ?

On the Meraki system, there is no feature like this. The SSID gets tunneled and sent to the appropriate VLAN. Do you need this feature because you need multiple subnets for the amount of IPs? Then the solution would be to rearrange one of the VLANs to a larger subnet.

The customer is currently using this feature on the Cisco WLC and would like to continue to use multiple VLAN's when they migrate to Meraki, but if the MX can only tunnel to a single VLAN then i guess we will look at rearranging the backend subnets.

But just wanted to check if it was possible first, before we go down the route of rearranging the network.
