New users logon issues with a/b/g

Hi,

My customer switched from D-link 54g cards to the Cisco PCI a/b/g cards, and after doing so if a new user is to log on a PC, he is not able to access the domain, however if it is done with the D-link cards the issue doesn't occur.

the new user, with the Cisco card which is registered only locally doesn't loose connectivity to the AP, however only with the D-link card the network resources are accessible...

they are using a non-broadcasted SSID and cypher WEP-128.

He has 1231G-a-K9 APs and the computers are windows 2k,with SP4.

any help would be greatly apreciated.

Cisco has confirmed this to be a bug. There is no fix as of yet.

However, as long as that user has authenticated to the domain previously, the adaptor should associate to the ap during the login process.

Instead of using the ADU for config, use Microsoft wireless config and the client adaptor will associate to the ap prior to windows login. This only works with XP. W2k clients there is no work around. It will associate to the ap after you log into windows with the cached account for your domain.

Thanks Rick,

I will provide this information to my customer.

If you have a bug Id, I would apreciate it if you could post it; so that i can provide it to my customer.

regards,

Andrey.
