Can anyone tell me if there's any magic needed to get the standalone Aironet 1602i (AIR-SAP-1602I-E-K9) to react on its web interface? The device comes up when connected to the switch (Netgear M4100-26G-PoE), blinking green status LED, then I guess 'chirping' (Green on 1 second, off 3 seconds) which is how it should be. I see in the firewall it has taken an IP address but although it responds to pings there is no connection on the web interface, just 'cant establish connection'.
Any help much appreciated.

USE Firefox! Just for kicks I opened FF instead of IE and it opened OK. Normally I use IE because upgrades through FF fail. Very interesting, the GUI does not work in IE 11.
This is crazy. I have this exact same problem where no GUI, however, it does load the correct IOS.

Seeing as the OP had both the CAP and SAP images, this one is slightly different as it is not booting into a controller based image.

Even better, pulled a second one out of the box, same thing. In fact it would not even boot off my switch so I used a power injector. Not looking so good right now.
