         - Go to basic setup again (console/puttty) and configure an initial user too (when asked)

"show ap tag summ" so we can see what tags are applied to the AP?
Try "ap name <apname> reset capwap" to force the AP to re-join and possibly pick up the change in the join profile in case it missed it.
