NTP Server away after power down

Hello,

I have the following problem, if I have to disconnect the WLC 2505 from the
power supply, it loses the time. It is then always on 01/01/2000, even though
an NTP server is entered.
Is there a way to check that the NTP server that is entered on the WLC is
also working? Would like to choose an NTP pool, but you can only enter
one IP in the WLC. In addition, which version should you use for the NTP 3 or 4?

The problem that is currently running is that if the WLC has been disconnected
from the power supply, then after the WLC has booted up again, all WiFi is
offline and the AP is not connected to the WLC. Only when the time is then
set manually do the APs log on to the WLC again and the WLAN then works.

  You can configure an NTP server with : 
                config time ntp server 1 192.168.100.254  (substitute the IP address with your NTP server's address)

Hello,

thanks for your answers. I have now entered the NTP server once as
an IP and once as a DNS name and it currently looks like it is syncing.

I'll keep an eye on it and as soon as I can enter the whole thing in my
home office in the test environment and then test whether it loses the
time again and then gets set via the NTP server, I'll get back to you shortly.

I'm assuming you mean a 2504 controller?

@Hans Juergen Guenter  It's like servers/workstations when the internal battery dies.  Since that is an old unit, I'm assuming that is the cause.  You can look at this blog on a WLC 2504 where the battery is and why to replace it due to time defaulting.  Maybe time to open up the unit and replace the battery.

Hello,

thanks for your information. I'll see where the internal battery
is in my WLC in the test environment.
Currently it also works so that I have entered an NTP server
as IP and once as DNS so that the correct time is set by the
NTP server when restarting.
