If an AP is setup as an OEAP, and the ssid in use is set to local switching, will the client still be dropped off at the same physical interface the AP is on? Or... will clients on an OEAP automatically be centrally switched regardless of how the ssid is setup?
I'm trying to see if regular clients can be locally switched and oeap clients can be centrally switched without using separate SSID's.

If SSID is set to local switching, then user traffic will terminate on local network.
Typically you need to have two SSID (one for Corporate which is normally centrally switch back to your office setup & other SSID for your home users)

Yes, having separate ssid's is the normal scheme. I guess this use case is unique - this isn't for "home" users. We occasionally send OEAP's to an offsite vendor that needs access to our corporate SSID and associated resources in our data center. We're now stuck since the corporate SSID became locally switched.
There are other scripts and processes the vendor uses that are setup based on SSID. Changing those may not be trivial. Too bad there is no AP setting that can override SSID settings.

I just found out you can make two ssid's with the same names, but different profile names. They will still have all independent settings. Seems like it should work... I will keep the second ssid centrally switched. With the OEAP's in their own group, and this group only broadcasting the second central switched SSID....seems like it should work. A client shouldn't ever be able to tell the difference between the two and since they are not in roaming distance of each other I don't see a problem with this.
Was genuinely surprised a controller would allow multiple ssid's with the same exact names.
