One question about MR20...

normaly we use MR33 in our network. Now, our customer needs an AP very simple, no-frills, no wids,.... but cheap ! Does anybody know when the MR20 was launched ? Is it reasonable to deploy these APs or is EOL in sight ?

No, that's not what he says. It's just that the automatic selection and the avoidance of "bad" channels are not as efficient as with the MR33 and above. It will work, but the MR33 has some technologies to make the WLAN work "better" compared to the MR20. If there is no budget for the MR33, the MR20 will likely still do a good job for you.

MR20 is from 2018, MR33 is from 2017. Still, I would prefer MR33.

Me too, but too expensive.

I would not try to save money here as the MR20 uses a thing called opportunistic auto RF channel making the client serving radios check for the radio environment instead of using the dedicated scanning radio available on all MR models but not on MR20.

What do you want me to say by that ? That the MR20 has less effective bandwith per RF channel (cause of the radio checks) as the MR33 ? Is it configurable, suppressible ?

Hi @AStubinski

Neither are mentioned on the EoS list

if budget is tight and you want no frills then go for the MR20
