I wish to perform a site survey using a cisco wireless nic. Cisco being one of the few vendors to provide this utility with the NIC.
My problem is, my client has a netgear 11g ap. Will the results of a survey done using 11b, as cisco do not yet sell an 11g nic, to a 3rd party ap be as reliable as if I was doing a survey all on the same vendors kit.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
Regards
Steve

if you like to use the Cisco NIC for site survey, there a number of tools that will work on Unix/Linux.
If do not wish to install Linux on your portable computer, try using Knoppix-Std CD. Its a number of wireless tools that will work with Cisco card and you could perform Site-survey.
