"Disable Network" on select group of APs

Is it possible to perform the "config 802.11a disable network" and "config 802.11b disable network" or the GUI equivalent on a select group of APs?  We currently have several sites all terminating on the same WLC with APs organized into separate AP groups each with RF Profiles.  We need to make changes to available data rates for one site, but are trying to avoid doing a global "Disable Network" shutdown of all APs.

One can disable the AP radios individually.

Would that clear the "Network in use" flag and allow the changes to the data rates?

To change data rates globally you have to disable the network. For RF-Profiles, you can change them I believe without disabling the radios. So it depends how you have things setup.
