Radius Accounting for WLAN?

Recently we've been getting SNMP trap logs on our WLCs that our radius accounting servers are deactivated and activated.  It seems the authentication servers (same IP, but port 1812) are fine.  I believe these were originally setup just because the field was there and our Steel Belted radius servers accept accounting.  However, I'm curious what accounting even does in a radius authentication process, if any.  Maybe I can just take these out?

If you are not using any features that need accounting, like NAC or billing for the acct start/stop messages you can disable them.

Hi,

yes, if you don't want these acct messages you may disable them.
