is there a calculator where I can simply put in the distance between two points and get an "above obstacles" result?
The range calculator that Cisco distributes has a wealth of options, but I always need to play with the antenna and cable loss figures to work out a distance limit for an above obstacles requirement.
Thanks is advance.

The only calculator on the Cisco site is the one you described above.
The best option for what you want is to search on Google for "fresnel zone calculator" There is hundreds of them on the web and some are easier to use than others, I am sure this way you will find one that suits your needs
This one is very simple and I have used it in the past, but I do recommend that you search as you may find one you like better
