Scheduling a powercycle of Wireless Access Points...

Hello.

In our environment we have two Cisco 5500 Series Wireless LAN Controllers, fourty-six Cisco 3500 Series Access Points, and use Cisco Wireless Control System for management.

Is there a way to schedule all forty-six Access Points to powercycle weekly during off-business hours?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

ok, in the AP templates there is a checkbox to reboot the AP.  So same scenario, just check the box and schedule it to run at whichever time you want.

Are you looking to turn of the AP so that they don't offer services?

You can use WCS templates to schedule the radios to be disabled, and another to enable them.

Thanks for the reply Steve.

We are looking for a reboot of the Access Points, not to turn them (or their services) off.

Thanks again.

I'll look into the AP templates and see if I can get it figured out. As this is my first foray into WCS, there will be a bit of a learning curve I'm guessing.

If you don't fancy this, there is another way of doing this and it's via Cisco's EnergyWise.  Let's say you want to reboot your AP at midnight:
