Hey mates,
How long it is needed to wait till the RRM has settled down in order to perform a relevant Wireless Sites Survey?
Assuming that we would be bringing up 400 APs at the same time.

Generally you'll want to manually run RRM the night before you have clients arrive. So you stand up all 400 AP's, and then on your WLC you'll want to run:
config 802.11a channel global restart
config 802.11b channel global restart
This is recommended any time you add a large number of APs, and puts RRM into "Startup" super sensitive mode. This will run for I think around 2-3 hours. After that, you should be ready for clients.

Hi Kyle,
Yep! This is what I usually do, to force the RRM to re-calibrate... and wait till it finish. You can check the RRM events to be sure it has just finished.
But the question is whether there is specific recommendation from Cisco about the time needed for the algorithm to finish the calculations. It will obviously depend on the amount of APs.... but is there any document taking about specific timing?
Thanks!

Basically you should be good to go once RRM is out of startup mode. Once that is complete, channels should be pretty much set and they wont change until your next RRM run. We have the RRM interval set at once an hour.

Thanks for your reply Kyle,
Is there any Cisco document on is stated exactly when everything can be considered as settled down?
