Dear all,
Please help me on this critical issue, i am try to change hostname of light weight access points from wism and through console, but unable to do. From console i have apply following commands:
lwapp ap hostname AP1240
&
capwap ap hostname <name>
!
But it's give me ERROR!!! Command is disabled.
Hope you understand and reply me with solution.

Hostnames changes has to be done from the GUI or CLI of the WLC. This can only be done if the AP has joined the WLC. Once an ap has joined any WLC, you can't change the hostnames unless you erase the flash for factory reset the ap.

Check the flash of the AP to see if there is enough memory.

Usually older AP's tend to have junk:) crash files etc.... You can get rd of all that and free up some space. Compare it to a good know AP.

I didn't say format!!! Delete files that are not needed. You can reference one if you other AP's. Log files like error or crash can be removed.

enable telnet or ssh to the AP and then issue a dir. Post the output.

You need to session into the WiSM from the 6509 or connect to the console port:
You can access the WiSM through a session command directly now.
