I have a brand new NCS Appliance. we ran through the setup on the console and we can successfully ssh to the box, we can ping the box, but when we go to https://<ipaddress> nothing comes up. It just says that it cannot display the webpage.
Any thoughts? We have stopped and started NCS and we have even rebooted the unit to no avail.
sh application version NCS tells us its version 1.2.0.103
Any help would be appreciated

NMS Server is stopped.
This is why. Try what I posted and see if it fixes it

Well, i completed the steps you listed, however it seems like the system hangs on the 'ncs db reinitdb'
When I run that command, it tells me that it will take 10-20 minutes to complete. 40 minutes later, still nothing. It never returns to the prompt. We rebooted the machine and tried it again and left it over night. Nothing. I'm at a loss as to what is going on.
I opened a TAC case, but haven't heard back from the engineer yet.
Any other thoughts?

Since its an appliance your hardware should be fine. Make sure all the services are running when you issue a show application status NCS.
If you still have issues try this
1. nsc stop
2. ncs db reinitdb
3. ncs start
And then make sure all the services are running.

Well, it ended up needing to be reloaded from a recovery image. From the logs, we discovered that every time the machine was booting or starting ncs, it was trying to build a new database every time. Since it was brand new and had only a basic configuration on it, it was easier and faster to just reload it and start from scratch. Thanks for the comments and help though.
