Update to 8.5.103 on wlc 2504 is missing image for 1600 series access points

I wanted to update a WLC 2504 to the new version 8.5.103.0 using download file AIR-CT2500-K9-8-5-103-0.aes.

However, when I tried to predownload the version to the access points (two 1602I and one 1702I) only the 1702I loaded the new version. For the 1602I I see these error messages in the logs:

*spamApTask3: Jul 27 14:51:02.452: %CAPWAP-3-ENCODE_ERR: capwap_ac_sm.c:3309 The system has failed to encode Image data request (Requested Ap Image not found) to AP xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

According to the release notes the 1600 series is supported and should not be part of the supplementary ap bundle image. However, only after I downloaded the supplementary bundle to the controller I was able to get the new version predownloaded to the aps.

So it seems to me that the 1600 series ap images has been moved to the supplementary ap bundle image but the release notes and descriptions fail to mention this...
