USC 5310

Hi community,

I'm trying to get an USC5310 working on a AP C3600 (AIR-CAP3602I-E-K9). I set up the AP C3600 as stand-alone using software AP3G2-K9W7-M version 15.2(4)JA1.

Unfortunately, when booting it reports "Unknown Expansion Detected, please configure cookie. Shutting down module."

Any idea, how I can get the USC to work?

Thanks for any hints...

Regards

 - It looks like the UCS can not be recognised ; try with latest software for the AP :

Hi M.

Tried version 15.3.3-JF15 as well. No change.

Could it be I need an OLDER version for the USC to be detected? Or is using the AP as stand-alone not possible?

System requirements say: "This module is designed for the use with Cisco Aironet 3600 Series access points [no mentioning of any software version!] ... The USC 5310 module is supported on these Cisco wireless LAN controllers ... 5500, 7500, 8500 Series ... The USC 5310 is supported by the following software releases: - Cisco Unified Wireless Network Software Release 7.6 or later; - Cisco Universal Small Cell Software Release 3.3 or later; - Cisco Small Cell Solution Release 2.0 or later"

I might look a bit stupid now, but what have those software releases to do with the Aironet 3602 AP?

I know I can manage the AP using a Cisco Wireless Controller (I have a 5508 somewhere, but never used it before), but I would rather have the AP as standalone.

Thanks for any further advice.

I suspect it is only supported on lightweight AP software with WLC not on autonomous.
The last version of release notes to even mention USC is 8.0 and that lists USC5101-AI-AIR-K9 not USC5310 but that might have just been an omission.  You could try your 5508 with the last 8.0 release <smile>
Keep in mind all the field notices below for that old code ...
If that works you could try upgrading to 8.5.182.12 (link below) and see whether it is still supported.

Hi.

Tried the lightweight version, but no change. The USC 5310 module is not activated. I might be broken, but I don't believe it, as it came from factory refurbishment.

I also own a USC 7330 stand-alone unit. I started it up, using a PoE adapter and connected it to my switch. It gets an IP number assigned by the DHCP server. But it claims (via double-blinking red LED) that it has no network connection.

Does anybody have more information on how to get it to work? I only have the quick start guide. Is there a GUI to configure the USC 7330? Or how do I access the configuration setup of the USC 7330?

Any hint is very much welcome.

Regards...
