Virtual Wireless LAN Controller

Hello, I'm looking to get a trial of the virtual wireless LAN controller.

I picked up a Airnet pretty cheap though ebay and thought that I could just download the wireless controller, but as I don't have anything listed in my account I can't.

Is there a trial I can get / full olver version of the software?

Tried to get my hands on a meraki, but also didn't go down so good as I'm not a business. I'm just trying to build out my home lab with setups I see so I can learn to support them, but also learn and get more familuar with cisco and start to undertake some training.

Any help /  Advise you can give would be great. The Cisco support team via twitter pointed me here, not too sure if this is the right place, but I'm sure you can advise / point me in the right direction if not.

Thanks!!

Hi

If the AP is supported by vWLC you can Google for the .ova file for vWLC.

Have a look here if AP is supported - https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/wireless/virtual-wireless-controller/products-release-notes-list.html

If not supported by vWLC, you can install a standalone software to learn and play.

For Meraki you can have play with the read-only always on sandbox. https://devnetsandbox.cisco.com/

Hope this helps.

Check if you can get your hands on a cheap WLC 2504 with at least 5 licenses. Also make sure that your AP is supported by the 2504. It might require a software upgrade/downgrade.
