hi! we r plaaning to deploy wcs in our environment. I would like to check whether WCS has the feature to monitor the APs connected to the WLCs? eg. If one of the AP is down....is there any indication in the console or msg/notification prompted to the users? any possibility to connect to smtp or sms gw through wcs? Thx

hi! Thx for the info...if one of the AP is down, can the nearby AP inject more power to cover the lost coverage?

This is a seperate feature.. i guess MESH design will do this... WCS is the management software whci runs on a server machine and used for managing and pushing templets to control the WLC by just one click..

Mesh is absolutely NOT related to this question.
If an AP goes down, the WLC will increase the power of nearby APs to fill the hole, yes. WLC will do that if nearby APs are not already at maximum power obviously,so that requires a dense enough coverage.
This algorithm is called "Coverage hole algorithm". When the WLC detects clients "stuck" at the edge of a coverage cell and not roaming, it increases the coverage of that AP to englobe the clients.
Hope this clarifies
